KMW renews Dutch FENNEK fleet

German Army receives further LEGUAN bridge layer

The Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has commissioned Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) to supply additional Leguan bridge laying systems to the German Army. The contract covers 24 Leguan systems on the Leopard 2 chassis, training simulators, ancillary equipment and transport systems.

KMW, Nexter and Rheinmetall get the go-ahead for initial MGCS architecture study

Standing for Main Ground Combat System, MGCS is a joint Franco-German defence project. The programme, to be implemented under German political leadership, is tasked with developing a main combat system to succeed the Bundeswehr’s Leopard 2 and the French Army’s Leclerc starting in 2035.

Making the start of the MGCS procurement programme Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), Nexter Systems and Rheinmetall AG established an ARGE in December 2019.

Denmark procures LEGUAN bridge-layers

The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) has signed an agreement with Krauss - Maffei Wegmann (KMW) for the procurement of seven Leguan bridge - layer systems on Leopard 2 chassis on 12 December 2019. The order comprises a total of six Leguan systems, a comprehensive periphery package, training simulators and an additional carrier vehicle. Shipping of the bridge - layers will begin at the end of 2022.

The Netherlands receive the first Leguan bridge-layers

Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) transferred the first two Leguan bridge laying systems to the Dutch Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) during a celebratory handover ceremony.
